Christmas Morning: The Dress Rehearsal

Good evening!  Everyone have a good Christmas?  Oh wait – WE had Christmas today.  You didn’t?  It was our run-through before we leave for Grandma and Gpa H’s house this week.  Had to get some of the bigger items out of the way cuz there is no way they are coming with us!  Anyway, the dress rehearsal went off without a hitch.  Everyone remembered their lines.   

But first, this was yesterday I think.  They are always wanting me to take their picture sitting there.  I can’t say no!  How cute are they?!

Things always take a turn for the worse when he starts pestering her.

Look out Dylan!  She’ll bite you! (no really, she will)

BUSTED!  Trying to pull the bulbs off the tree!

Ok, back on task.  Christmas morning – the Dress Rehearsal.  We started out with some pancakes.  A request was made for snowman and tree shaped pancakes.  Those turned out lovely.   

Dylan yelled at me for giving him two pancakes (his usual).  There was NO TIME to eat TWO pancakes! We had presents to open!!!

Mux – never misses a chance to eat wrapping paper.   “Holy smokes!  An air hockey table!”

Avery was hard at work in the corner on her new phone.  Who cares about air hockey?! We’ve got calls to make!

Millscat watched from up on the fridge.  Her little head moving back and forth following the puck.

Milly even got presents!  Can you believe it?!  Avery was more than happy to make sure that Milly got what was hers.  She kept shoving the 3 fish into her face over and over again.  “MILLY!”  “MILLY!”  “MILLY!”  

I hate McDonalds, but the kid I love loves McDonalds, so what are ya gonna do?  

This is as close as I’m gonna get to eating a McDonalds cheeseburger!

And my present…..wait for it….wait for it….. A

breadmaker!  Who knew I wanted a breadmaker?  

LOL!  Oh Dylan.  Oh Avery.  Both so funny.

And the moment they had been waiting for (and didn’t know it was coming):

“Holy smokes!  My trampoline!”

This was the only thing Dylan wanted this year.  Guess who got what he wanted?!

Avery was excited too.

And their big gift from Gma and Gpa H…..wait for it….wait for it….

A kitchen!  

Avery says, “wait…what’s missing here? The doors to this thing?  The pots and pans? The faucet? Over half the stuff that was SUPPOSED to be in here?  My hairstyle? What?!” Yeah, it came with 3/4 of the stuff missing.  Some sort of “big error at our warehouse.”  Well, thanks for letting us know, Little Tikes!    It had only been sitting in our garage for a month!  We could have had the replacement parts by now had we known that WE were supposed to be doing THEIR quality control.  Can you tell I’m mad!?

And finally, I finished my holiday baking!  Phew! What a relief!  Today I made these pretty babies:
