The Ice Mite Returns

We went to Crookston this past weekend to go ice skating help Lisa and Chandler move into their new house.  We managed to squeeze in some ice time though so that Dylan could break in his new skates that he got for his birthday.DSC_1741Miss Avery was excited to try out “skating” as well.  She’s only been hearing about it for the last 16, almost 17 months!  She couldn’t wait to try it herself.  (No skates for her yet.  Eric is looking tho. Thinking) DSC_1747

Grandpa Danny was there, showing off his skills. DSC_1762

Kelli was there to help out as well!  That’s cousin Easton skating like a big boy! DSC_1765

Auntie Lulu assisted Avos in her skating. DSC_1767 DSC_1768

He started out pretty slow this year.  He had gotten so he was pretty quick on his skates at the end of the season last year.  It took a little while before he was comfortable again. DSC_1770Avery Lulu was quick on her skates! DSC_1772 DSC_1773 DSC_1779

E man has a love/hate relationship with skating and hockey.  He loves it, but he didn’t want to come skating all that badly this weekend.  The promise of skating with Dylan was what drew him in and I think he still enjoyed himself.  Can’t wait until they are both whizzing around skating quick together.   DSC_1783 DSC_1785 DSC_1787

This hat went missing for awhile.  Eric put out a distress call and offered a reward.  I received a call Facebook message early this morning letting me know that the hat had been found safe and sound.  DSC_1788

And here was what we spent a good portion of Saturday doing.  Scraping wallpaper down off of Lulu’s walls.  I don’t know what the heck the previous owners were thinking with all that wallpaper!  Seriously.  It was BAD.  Lulu and I started out with the soaking the wallpaper with some sort of goo and then scraping it and it did NOT go well.  We wasted a lot of time on that method.  Then we wised up and rented a steamer.  Wow.  If you have to remove wallpaper – THAT is the way to go.  It was MUCH easier.  MUCH.

DSC_1796Well, that’s it from Crookston for now.  Stay tuned for a Thanksgiving post or two from Crookston.  I know you can’t hardly wait!
