Beddy Bye

  Good evening!

We’ve started letting Avery practice feeding herself more.  Up until now, she is either spoon fed things or she eats with her hands.  This is pretty much because I hate the mess that this learning experience brings with it – but I have to let her do it at some point or I’ll be stuck feeding the little turkey.  DSC_1657

She actually did fairly well!  I was surprised! DSC_1658

Yes, she got it all over her face but that is to be expected.   DSC_1659 DSC_1660

She only got a small amount on her shirt too!  She’s a teeeeensy bit neater than Dylan was at this age.  He REALLY got into his food.   DSC_1661

The bad part about letting her be independent is that she doesn’t want her independence to end.  I tried to help her eat the last bit of the yogurt and she wouldn’t have any of it.  She got mad and did it herself.  Then when it was all gone, she was mad that she was done being a “big girl” and screamed at me some more.  Oh Avos!

DSC_1662She doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry! DSC_1664

Guess she picked cry. DSC_1665We kissed and made up though. DSC_1666

So today while Avos and I were shopping browsing in Brainerd, we came across a toddler bed at Target that was clearanced out.  I figured that Avery would probably be climbing out of her crib in the next few months so it was probably a good idea to snag it up.  However, when we got home, Dylan immediately claimed it as his.  He has been complaining for awhile that he didn’t want his car bed anymore and we had planned on getting him a twin or a full sized bed in the near future.  But, we figured it wouldn’t hurt to let him use this one for a bit until Avery is ready for it.  So Eric got to work putting it together.DSC_1667Yeah, so she’s a little disheveled.  She has bed head! Give her a break! DSC_1668 DSC_1669

Okay, I swear, her hair doesn’t always look this bad! DSC_1670

Trying it out sans mattress.  The picture on the box had a sheet and a blanket on it and he was kind of confused as to where his new sheets were at.  Ummmmm DSC_1671 DSC_1672

Time to move it on in! DSC_1676

She has a DIAPER on!  Geez! DSC_1677

Woohoo! DSC_1678And the old bed will make a FINE fort until cousin Easton inherits it.DSC_1684

This just didn’t look right. DSC_1685

That’s better!  He’ll be all cozy back there in the corner.  Eric was pretty proud of his handy work. DSC_1687 DSC_1689

And I was proud of my handy work.  I made the Mushroom and Sausage Ragu again.  It’s just so good!  And since Eric wasn’t here the first time I made it, I wanted to make it again.  Not sure if he liked it or not.  Compliments are few and far between for this chef. Sad DSC_1695Well, that’s it for tonight.  We have a date for Chuck!  Oh and in case you were wondering about my illness – it appears to be going away all on its own!  I woke up this morning and was able to do my workout with no problem.  I thought it was maybe a fluke that I wasn’t coughing AT ALL during my workout, but then after I finished up I was still cough free.  I’ve been coughing a little bit today but not NEARLY as much as before.  So yay!  Back to normal! Open-mouthed
