Up all night, CAN'T sleep all day!
Well, for the second time in a week, DD kept us up nearly all night long. He woke up at 12:30 am or so and wouldn't go back to sleep. Every time he was put back in his crib he would just yell for us to come and get him OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Normally, ignoring him would work. Apparently he has wised up to that trick cuz instead of falling asleep after several minutes of crying - he decided to take matters into his own hands and climb right out of his crib, open his bedroom door and come into our room to "sleep" with us. If we weren't coming to him, he was coming to us. This is something new - climbing out of the crib and getting up in the night. Soooooo readers - any ideas as to what the problem is?? I have a feeling today is going to be a looonnnnnnng day for all of us. We hardly slept at all having him in the bed with us. He tosses and turns a lot, much like his father. Eric is still upstairs sleeping, and I am drinking copious amounts of coffee in an effort to keep on going. What happened to my good sleeper?????

Looks like the crib is history. That or get the netting you can zip around it so he can't crawl out. (not sure how well it works though) I know some people have put baby gates in the doorway so they have to stay in their room. Or just keep putting him back in his room and let him know who's boss. It may mean you do it for hours in the night, but you just gotta supernanny him.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it...they only do it for so long. I miss it now.
ReplyDeleteHello Car Bed!!! Oh, our little Dylsie is growing up. Crib climbing is the funnest. Give me a call if you need help with bed switching. Reed did it at about 20months old. It took a few nights to get the new routine and rules down. Just remember...PATIENCE!
