Goose egg

  It was another long day for us (hence, the reason this post is posted a day late!).  The kids were really busy entertaining their Auntie Susan while I was busy spiffying up the house.  We’re on a top secret (for now) mission that required me to clean this place up a bit.  So it was very important that I had a filling breakfast part 2.  This is Chobani Raspberry Greek Yogurt, Muesli, raw rolled oats, and raspberries.  Delicious! 

Lunch was another attempt at the black bean burger.  This one was good!  Topped with muenster cheese, guacamole and a tomato!  Bravo, Trishy, Bravo! 

Avos is sporting some new clothes!  And for once, she left her barrette in longer than 2 seconds!

They are once again dancing to Mamma Mia.

He was having a great time.  

And then this happened.  He was looking back at me to make sure I was watching and ran into one of the side tables.  He stifled his cries though cuz I think he wanted Auntie Susan to think he was a tough guy.  

I had to hold the ice pack on his head.  Someone was milkin it.  

While I was stuck holding the ice pack, Avos took the opportunity to take out each and every diaper and wipe.  Thanks Avery!  

He decided he could hold it.  

Avery was REAL concerned about him.

Lululemon!

  It was another hectic day around here.  Today was day 2 of preschool and it actually went well!  He didn’t cry and wasn’t too upset when I left.  So yay!  And now I just need to figure out how to fill the 2.5 hours in town while Avery and I wait for him to get done.  Today I took her to Kohl’s to look for shoes, but didn’t have any luck.  She did luck out in the clothes department though.  I’m too lazy to take pictures of them right now. So too bad for you!  But – you’re in luck.  There has been a few requests for pictures of some of the goodies from the weekend shopping trip, so here ya go!  Here is Renae modeling her Scuba hoodie from Lululemon Athletica!  Cuuuuuuuute!Love the Lulu logo on the back of the hood!

Well, thats it for now.  I would have taken pics of other things, but I had to get things all nice and tidy for our special visitor arriving later this evening.  My sister flies into Brainerd in a bit because my cousin is getting married this weekend in Crookston.  So I have to head to town to collect her!  Later!

Hiatus

So, be honest – did anyone really miss me?  We went to Minneapolis for the weekend so I could indulge in a little retail therapy with Renae.  I was just going to go alone, but we all went so that Eric could watch all 4 kids since Taco Jon was out of town on businazz.  Does anyone else find it amusing that Taco Jon would be on a business trip?  I do!  Anyway, the reason for the hiatus is that these silly folks don’t know their wireless password, so no one else can use their internet when there.  Hence, a hiatus.  You didn’t even know I was gone though, I just know it!

Saturday morning before shopping, Renae and I juiced up a bunch of veggies from her garden.  Pictured in this bouquet of delishness is: kale, red pepper, cucumber, celery and grapefruit.

I liked it too.  We thought it had a salty taste but we arent sure what it would be from.  

I took a picture of Renae with her favorite item from the shopping excursion, but not one of me yet.  So no pictures of our lovely things for you!  Yet.  Or ever.  Can’t decide.  So then today we all went to the Como Zoo in St Paul. 

Avery LOVED the zoo.  She squealed with delight at each new animal she saw.  I think her favorites were the ducks and the seals.  I concur, the seals were fun.

I have no idea why that last bit is underlined and I don’t feel like trying to figure out how to get it to stop being underlined.  I seem to have my cold back that I had gotten after last weekend.  I feel all “phlemy.”  So, I’m calling it a night!  Later!

School Boy

  Dylan started preschool today!!  We were running late this morning (someone was stalling!) so we only took one picture before we left.I could tell he was nervous on the drive in, so I tried to distract him with the sounds of Lady Gaga.  It seemed to work.  We got to school and he met one of his teachers.  Still doing okay.  But as you can see by the look on his face – he wasn’t too sure about it.  

After he met the teacher, we headed towards the preschool room and that’s where it all unraveled.  He started to cry.  I think he was overwhelmed by the teacher initially and all the hustle and bustle going on there.  He said he didn’t want to go to school anymore and he wanted Daddy (Eric was at home with Avery).  I told him it would be okay and he made me PROMISE that I was NOT going to LEAVE.  EVER.  After we got that settled, we went in.  And, he was fine.  He walked from one “station” to the next checking each thing out.  All the other kids were doing it!  

I, of course, was impressed by the kitchen!  They had a lot of awesome play food.  That curly haired chick almost took a tiny frying pan to the head though.  No one tells my DD that he can’t play with something! 

Next, we moved to the painting station.  Another area in which I excel!  Oh wait, this isn’t about me.  He loved it though!  He was a little peeved that there was only one color.  He was all, “where’s the blue?” 

Next up – play dough!  Better do it there, cuz you’re not doing it here! Ha!   B

And that was all the pictures I took, as it was time for the moms and dads to go in another room to talk with the teacher.  To my surprise, I told him that I was leaving to go in the next room and he didn’t really care.  Of course, I told him that I was coming back and I was just right across the hall.  So perhaps that helped.  We’ll see how it goes on Monday when I leave, leave.  After school was over, we went to Joanne Fabrics to scope out the deals they were supposedly having since they are closing one store and opening another.  We have/had plans to make more of those tie fleecy blankets and we needed fabric.  So since Avos wasn’t with us – it was the perfect time to go.  Letting a 15 month old loose in a craft store – soooooooo not high on my list of things to do.  Especially THAT craft store.  Crap all over the floor that she’d likely try to eat.  So we got fabric for Avery’s blanket (Dylan’s blanket was a no go - they didn’t have hockey stick fabric this time! What?! WHAT?!), and some supplies to make a birthday card for Ingrid, as today is her birthday.  When we got home – it was craft time. 

Avery saw the camera come out, cruised over to me and said, “CHEEEEEEEEESE.”

Avery is practicing her yoga.  Or is she putting on Dylan’s shoe?  Here is some of the loot from today.  Avery’s fabric, Dylan’s fancy new shoes, socks for both kids and some jammies for Avery.  Fancy!  

And of course we had to get a new backpack!! 

Such a little schoolboy!  He wanted to wear his backpack and new shoes to deliver his card to Ingrid.  

Avery wanted to play on her new blankies.  I think they are the perfect patterns for her room!  And it will definitely be big enough for her once she has a big girl bed.  Damn, I’m good.   Clearly, she thinks so too.

Well, I gotta get back to finishing it.  Its half done right now and if you’ve ever made one – you can’t leave it for the next day.  Especially when you have little people who might destroy your work.
