Moving to Wordpress

Well, I've decided to move the blog to Wordpress.  This move might be scary to some of you (don't be scared grandparents - you can do this!!!) but I assure you, it will be okay.  All the old posts have been moved.  You can still find things on the new site.  The pictures and text will no longer be jumbled (it was driving me NUTS!!!!!).  And the comments are awesome here.  I can actually respond BACK to you!  NO WAY, right!?  Blogger can kiss my bunnies!  I'm outta here!  Here's the new link:

http://lifeonalake.wordpress.com/

All you have to do is go there and bookmark it.  Also, you can sign up to get email updates whenever a new post is created.  Please do so.  And by all means - COMMENT!!!!!  This is the main reason why I'm moving!  So we can have comments and discussion of comments!!!!  If there is something that is not working right - let me know.  Its gonna be a work in progress for sure!

Thanks everyone!  SO LONG BLOGGER!!!!

More photo shoots

Mmmmmm muffins.  I'm working my way thru the cookbook Super Natural Every Day. These are the Bran Muffins and they ROCK  I can't give out recipes, but I can tell you to buy this book.  Everything in it looks awesome and everything I've made so far has been great.

I'm trying to get new pictures for our header on this blog.  I'm also thinking of moving to Word Press so I can comment back.  Stay tuned.

The photo shoots so far have been mediocre at best.  But I'll keep trying.

I was calling her Cyndi Lauper when she put this on.  She did this all on her own.

The grass is finally greening up but we still have to wear our hats and jackets.  You know whats going to happen right - we'll go straight from winter to summer with no spring temps in between.  No joke - it was snowing on Monday - MAY 2nd.

And the trees are finally starting to get little buds on them.  See anything else?

She blends in so well this time of year - brown grass, brown trees.  I love watching her climb down trees.  She goes up them so often, but when its time to come down its like she has a momentary brain fart - "how do I get down again?"

Here they were wanting to look at the pictures on our calendar for May.  Avery doesn't recognize her baby self and keeps asking why the baby is crying in the pictures?  UM, YOU TELL ME!  I'd love to know why you were crying Avery!

He's still working on pumping.  He told me today that EVERYONE needs at least one or two pushes to get started.  Even adults.

And then he was messing around and literally got stuck like this.  And apparently this is not the first time either.  Ummmm???

Again, back at my photo shoots for the new header.

This one is probably as good as we're gonna get for now.

Pretty cute together!  I had Dylan's conferences today and his teacher said he talks about his sister a lot.  Not surprising!

Thats all for tonight!

New Mac!

It's here!  It's here!  It's finally here!  My new Mac!  Who wants a crack at naming this beauty?  DSC 4527

Noticed how fun it was that my reflection was so crisp on her purdy screen.  Felt compelled to take another pic.

So we're just getting to know each other.  Kids are LOVING the Photo Booth application.

And I'm busy trying to figure out a new blog platform.  My SIL Renae is trying to convince me to stick with Blogger's platform as she says it has improved since I last used it.  Right now I'm trying out Mars Edit.  I'm liking this, but we'll see.

Anyway, loving it so far!  SO excited to have it!  : )  (My emoticons are gone!  waaaah!)

Easter Weekend Picture Extravaganza!

We were up at Gma and Gpa Wikoff's for Easter weekend.  Dylan had a good time showing off his potty skills, jibber jabbering to everyone, playing with his cousin Easton and running around pants-less pretty much the entire weekend.  We went to Happy Joes on Friday for a pizza party in his honor.  Its important to celebrate peeing in the potty chair with pizza.  Again.
Here he is man-handling his cousin Easton (or Easter, as he likes to call him).
Here are some of the partygoers.  Thanks Kacie for showing some enthusiasm!
More lovin' for Easter.
Playing on the choo-choo outside of Happy Joes.  This was supposed to upload as a B/W photo, but you know blogger.  grrrrrrrrrrrr
The next day, Dylan had to show off his hockey skills for Gpa and Eddie.  His slapshot is still very scary.  I stayed clear of the game and for good reason.
And he of course had to get very dirty playing on the mushy wet beach.  Notice how these suckers still have ice on the lake!  ha ha!
And finally, here are the pictures from Easter.
I don't know why, but Eric felt the need to stick his thumb on my boob for the picture.  Nice.
Here I was trying to get Dylan to cooperate for a mother/son photo b/c of our coordinated shirts.  He wasn't having any of it.  So this is the most decent pic that was taken.  The rest of the pics he is either lying on the floor crying or he is in my arms arching his back away from me.  He is so nice!
And here he is looking for the eggs from the Easter bunny.  They were hard boiled eggs, so that was a bit weird.  Clearly, not my idea.
Sweet!  My Easter basket!
OOOOH the honorable Doc Hudson/Hudson Hornet!
Open it Daddy!
And here's Easton, enjoying his goodies from the bunny.
The Hanson Family and their love egg.
My deviled eggs.  A must have for any family get together.  Loved by all.
Well, thats it for pictures for today.  This blogger takes waaaaaay too long to upload and I've had enough.  But before I go, Eric wants everyone to know that Dylan peed off the dock this afternoon, it was 60 degrees outside today and he saw 43 loons out in front of our dock.  I can vouch for all 3 things.  However, I did not go out and count the loons, so we'll just have to take his word for it.  But I did hear them loooooooonin' at each other.  (insert your best loon call here).

Thats it for now!  Later!

Bump Watch!

Well here I am in all my glory at 25 weeks pregnant.  14 weeks to go!  We have a date tentatively set for the c-section now  - May 29th.  It all depends on the doctor's schedule, so its not set in stone.  But at least an end is in site!  All is going well though.  She has been kicking up a storm lately and has started to kick back when I tap at her.  My blood sugar continues to be normal, so that's good.  Its probably my daily exercise!  I really am starting to think that if diabetics wanted to be off insulin, all they'd have to do is move their asses a bit more!

Auntie Kelli was here for a visit this past weekend. Dylan is sick, so he's been laying around a bit more the past few days.  So Kelli got some rare snuggle time in with him.  She's up next on the cold "hit list."  First it was Gma Puppy, then Dylan, then me and she could be next!  Muahahhahahaha!!!  Dylan and I are still coughing up a storm and hoping that its not bronchitis, cuz thats what Gma Puppy apparently has.  So far, I haven't had any other symptoms other than a cough.  Dylan's had a runny nose and cough.  Who knows!  Hopefully it goes away soon though b/c its hard seeing him sick.  This is actually his very first cold if you can believe that!
Sorry these are out of order - not my fault blogger sucks!  Here is Dylan at Gma and Gpa Puppy's house last week.  I made him a Cars blanket that he was pretty excited about.  He doesn't even sleep with his beloved "super blankies" anymore!  I can't help but feel a little sad for them!
And finally, here is Eric on last Tuesday night after getting 2 wisdom teeth pulled.  We went in Tuesday morning and I honestly had no idea what to expect.  I barely remember any of the instructions they gave me after he came out of the surgery because I was so distracted by how he looked and how he was acting!!  He looked AWFUL and he was being even weirder than he normally is!  I was seriously batting back tears if I'm being honest!  And my next realization was, "There is no way in hell I'm getting my wisdom teeth out now!"  He is doing better now though.  Only the bottom one that he had pulled is bothering him.  That was the impacted one that had to be cut out.  He can't open his mouth very wide, but at least the swelling has gone down.  He had a pretty puffy cheek for a few days though!  He is looking forward to meeting once again with his true love - chips.  Just after he came out of the surgery room (and while he was all groggy and saying weird things to me) the doctor was telling us that he was to have no chips, nuts or popcorn for 2 weeks.  Eric's reaction was one of pure horror.  "NO CHIPS?!" he exclaimed as best he could with his swollen cheeks and ice bagged head.  Couldn't help but laugh at that one.
Other news - the snow blower was fixed and then went on the fritz again.  Something about a shaft being broken.  I'm scratching my head cuz I have no idea what that means.  Good thing we're coming up on March when we typically get heavy wet snow!  haha!  Most of our old snow is about gone now though.  Only a few dirty inches remain.  And the ice houses are slowly trickling off the lake now.  Good riddance!  I can't wait to look out and see nothing but flowing open water!

I think thats it for updates.  Please remember to check out our daily picture website at this address: www.shuttercal/calendar/dylansmom.  I update it with a new picture every day (or every other day, as a disclaimer for those who are sticklers on details) so that is a more current and updated representation of our daily lives than this blog is.  Seems I'm always finding something new to take on and other things get pushed off to the wayside.  Geez, hope that doesn't spell trouble for Dylan!  ha ha!  Only kidding!

Ta Ta for now!
