DD's crane

Dylan has a new toy everyone!  It just appeared yesterday and since its parked in our driveway, it must be ours, right?  I mean, no one asked if they could park it there sooooo -- finders keepers!  HA HA, road crew!  We're takin' it!

As you can see here, the road is not done.  Not even close.  Dylan doesn't mind tho.  It provides endless entertainment for him.  And now that the crane is ours, the beach will be done in no time!

P.S.  Did you know that if you click on the pictures, they get bigger?  (That tip is for you, Mom)

Bat-tastic!

Greetings Readers!

Well, again, not much is going on around here.  We have guests coming this weekend (Hef and Shannon) so I will be trying to tidy up today and also plan out some tasty food to have while they are here.  Eric's suggestion was brats and burgers.  Borrrrrinnnnnng!  So hopefully I can come up with something a little more fun.  DD is busy watching Clifford (allowing me more time to update you all today).  Here he is yesterday watching Handy Manny, his new favorite show.  Why he is standing on the table to watch it, I dont know???  Perhaps he is looking to burn calories while he watches.  After all, this family has been known to do sit ups or pushups while we watch tv.

Here is the progression of fall.  Not much to see yet.  However, the tree I've been watching across the lake is a bright neon pink and I told Eric that I must get over there and take a picture of it before its too late!

Ooooh now here is something hip hop happening!  Eric noticed we have a furry, flying friend yesterday.  I think its strange that he's by himself with no bat friends!  Apparently he likes to hang by himself.  Pun intended!  Anyway, after Eric took a few pictures of him, he decided that his spot by the hot tub wasn't private enough and moved about 5 feet around the corner.  Apparently he is not the brightest bat in his family.  Cuz we noticed him again awhile later.  We kept our distance tho.  Rabies is not in fashion this year.
Well, I tried to upload pics of my painting debacle yesterday.  But it appears that Blogger needs to work on how their picture uploads work.  I recommend uploading your pictures first and then typing.  Cuz for some lame reason, Blogger automatically uploads them to appear at the top of the screen and its virtually impossible to move them down to the bottom (or wherever you might want them) without completely messing up your entire post.  I hate you Blogger.
Anyway, I painted the rest of the guest bathroom yesterday.  The walls were to be a chocolate brown.  First coat looked like a red tinted Hershey's syrup.  Second coat - getting closer to brown, but still looks a bit red.  Third coat: not applied yet.  Apparently you need a gallon of paint to do 2 very small walls when you are using a color like this.  Who knew?!  So I will have to finish it later after yet another trip to Home Depot.  Fun!

Well, thats it for today.  Clifford is about to wrap up, so I better publish this post before it's too late.  Adios!

A quick update is all I am allowed

This is gonna be a quick update.  DD is whining at my feet saying, "Mommy play!"  So I must be brief.  Here's a pic of him playing with his Christmas toy and singing along with them.  Wish I could figure out how to get the video of him singing uploaded.  I have no idea why, but it seems our video camera hates me.
Here is a picture of a loon we saw yesterday on a pontoon ride with Larry and Ingrid.  Eric the photog jumped to his feet to snap about 50 pictures of the pair of loons.  They were pretty crabby that we were so close.
Here is DD wearing 2 lifejackets.  It was his idea to put on the orange ones.  Who would have thought that would happen since he previously hated wearing ANY life jacket.
And here is the progress on Eric's beach.  He requested I take some pics for you all to see.  Exciting, isnt it?

Coming soon....fall colors.  Each morning, the leaves seem to have changed a little more.  So once they are in full color, I will take some pics for you all to see and you can imagine that you are here with us enjoying them too.

Lame. Lame. Lame.

There was supposed to be a video RIGHT HERE of DD doing his crazy "Wild Man" before bed routine, but the video didnt upload properly and I'm not doing it over again. Which blows cuz it was quite entertaining and I know it would have brought in readers. This blog would have caught fire with such amazing video! LAME!! Now this post is LAME!

Well, anyway, this was typed while I waited for nothing (the non-uploaded video):

Here's the Sunday recap: We attempted to go to church this morning, but some sort of catastrophe prevented that from happening. Apparently a Modeling Analyst was greatly needed at 8:15am on a Sunday. (rolls eyes) So after the crisis was diverted, we went to the Brainerd instead. Not much to report from there. Back at home, DD has become quite obsessed with an old Christmas singing toy. I got out our fall decor yesterday and then decided to do some rearranging of some Christmas decor while I was at it. I then made the mistake of pointing out the toy to him. He's been playing it ever since. Pretty much non stop. So all we've been hearing is a cow, a pig and a puppy singing together in their native languages to the tune of "Jingle Bells." Cute at first, not so cute after several plays. In September. Poor thing probably isn't even going to work by December. OH WELL, right? Ha!
